The new INQ Cloud Touch is allegedly the closest thing to being the first Facebook phone to hit the market. According to the Unofficial Facebook Resource, AllFacebook.com, the Facebook cellular phone will be debuted in U.K. stores first, despite the fact that Facebook executives have denied such rumors.
The disagreement is about whether the INQ Cloud Touch is considered the first official Facebook phone. If you take a look at the screen, it certainly seems to be with all it offers in terms of Facebook features, does it not? Officials at Facebook have been a little wishy-washy on releasing a straight answer concerning the topic. They have said there is no official phone connected to the social media site and deny any deals between Facebook and HTC.
But are they just playing coy? The idea of a Facebook cell is pretty intriguing. While it is true the social media site is available on most smartphones and other mobile devices, the INQ Cloud Touch appears to be more interactive with social media directly on the home screen, which will likely excite the many (and I mean many) Facebook hungry individuals.
A video released on TechCrunch demonstrates the supposed Facebook phone in action. In the video, INQ Channel Manager Andrew Bennet reveals the INQ Cloud Touch, which features four buttons on the home screen that were clearly borrowed from Facebook – People, Events, Notifications, and Places.
In addition, the website for the phone states, in bold letters on the home page “INQ Cloud Touch – Alive with Facebook”. If INQ is advertising Facebook in connection to the phone so blatantly, it leads me to believe that AllFacebook is on to something. If the INQ Cloud Touch is after all the Facebook phone, I wouldn’t be surprised since the social media site continually ups the ante.
Guess James Franco was off track about social media.
