I think it is a TMI that could do more harm than good. Anything in your email is for public consumption no matter how private you may deem it to be.

Maybe for work, but stay out of my personal inbox. Whether e-mail traffic is low or high, I would still expect to receive personal e-mails regardless. If I am at work I do not care nearly as much because it is usually all business anyway – nothing personal. Along those same lines, increasing efficiency would be great for my work inbox where I receive a bunch of garbage that doesn’t even pertain to me anyway, and losing credibility at work because of a lack of a response under evidence of a low-e-mail traffic isn’t something I’m too terribly concerned about… especially where I work. Conclusion: TMI for personal e-mail functions; potential efficiency application for work e-mail functions.

Interesting article, I don’t know if I like that Google wants to know even MORE about me, but I could see some potential for this in business or school emails, but maybe not so much private ones.
