This month’s Employee Spotlight focuses on Eli Martin, our Director of Sales. Eli is near and dear to us here at eZanga, so when his time for the hot seat came, we were eager to get started. Whenever Eli isn’t working with his account managers, he can be found talking to our CEO, which is exactly where we found him the other day.
If you follow our company on Facebook or Twitter, you've probably noticed that eZanga is a pretty unique workplace, and we love it! You’ve also probably noticed that we have an awesome boss!
Now we have the chance to prove eZanga is one of the best places to work in Delaware, and that Rich Kahn is one of North Delaware’s top entrepreneurs. But we’ll need your help.
It may be cold outside, but that won’t stop us from giving a warm welcome to our latest interns.
You may be thinking, “Megan, most colleges are on winter break. How do you have new interns already?” It’s simple: we created a special program designed for students on break.
It was the most wonderful time of the year! There’s a certain chill to the air, and the east coast has been hit with our first taste of wintery goodness. We’ve already celebrated Halloween and Thanksgiving; but there’s something special about the winter holidays that make you feel all warm and fuzzy.
Resolutions are a funny thing. This time of year, many give it the good ole’ college try and commit to losing that last 15 (okay, 20) pounds, cut back on buying those cute shoes, or even go for that big promotion. We make resolutions, and sometimes break them. And it’s okay if you do too, we won’t judge you.
As we usher in a new class of interns for our first ever mini-internship, I encourage you to reach out to some of our past interns (here and here) and ask what their first day was like. I think some will say scary, others will say boring, and some might say awesome. But if you ask each of them what they wanted from their internship, they’ll tell you that they put their goals down on paper, too. And we discussed their goals - often - to make sure we were meeting their expectations.
So, today I do the same for you. Here are the resolutions, or goals, I have for each of you:
Ever need to search on the run? Maybe you need to find the nearest gas station, or are dying to know what the name of the actor that played Doogie Howser is (it’s Neil Patrick Harris, by the way). That’s why we’re pleased to announce the release of a new app: eZanga Search!
Happy New Year!
New Year’s Eve is one of my favorite nights of the year. It’s the one night when you’re encouraged to look back on everything you’ve done over the last 365 days. You get to think about what you’ve done well, the things you wish you could forget, and look forward to the future. It’s when you get serious about making goals, and swearing that you’ll keep those resolutions this time.
Before we start the countdown to 2015, let’s start a countdown of the NYE tunes to get you in the mood to watch the ball drop tomorrow night.
In this month’s Employee Spotlight, we highlight everyone’s favorite “buddy of mine,” Jason Cooper. Jason, or Cooper as we call him, is an Account Manager with eZanga’s sales department.
Oh, the weather outside is frightful. But this music is so delightful…
I think I have a thing for holiday music. All holidays. Halloween, Hanukkah, Christmas...does the Bunny Hop count as Easter music? If so, let’s add that to the list, too. I’m that person that listens to “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” at the pool in the middle of summer.
I don’t even celebrate Christmas, but probably know all the words to every Christmas song ever. Even the carols.
So I jumped at the chance to make eZanga’s holiday playlist, especially since it would be an easy task. I have my own holiday playlist with a few hundred tunes, I just had to pick and choose favorites. Actually, scratch that. Picking favorites wasn’t easy at all.
What’s the good in that, right? I mean, if you are going to show up to ‘work’ and put effort into something, you should get something out of it, right? Sure, we cater lunch in and have a fully stocked kitchen with every candy you might desire. And, if you want to come in early or stay late, you could enjoy cable TV (gasp!) or the latest Madden video game in the lounge. But yeah, you’re still not getting paid and you're only earning course credit for being here. Sorry about your luck.
But did you know sometimes it’s not about the money? Yep, it’s not.
