What Our CEO Has Learned from 20+ Years in Digital Advertising

By Brittany Berger,March 5, 2015

When you hear about online marketing and advertising, it’s easy to think about something that’s relatively new. It’s hard to believe that AOL first popped up 25 years ago. And that’s not even where it began.

The first online ad is considered to be a mass email that was sent back in 1978. It’s now also considered the first spam email, but still. It goes to show how deep the roots of online marketing are.

Our CEO, Rich Kahn, has been in the trenches of it since 1993. He’s seen countless evolutions and survived them all. It would be kinda selfish not to share what he’s learned, right?

Our Marketing Team Demands Success

Our Marketing Team Demands Success

By Brittany Berger,June 12, 2014

Last week was an exciting one for our marketing department. Michelle, Megan, and Brittany traveled to the National Harbor near Washington, D.C. for the Vocus Demand Success PR and marketing conference.

Members of our department have attended before, but this year we were also on a panel of Vocus Marketing Suite customers. In our unbiased opinion, we rock the Vocus Marketing Suite. So imagine how excited we were to be told that Vocus agreed, and wanted us to talk about it?

Brittany, our digital content supervisor, was on a panel with another VMS user, David Laxton, and Vocus Product Manager Abby Hammer. The group talked about challenges facing marketing departments today, how Vocus Marketing Suite can help solve them, and results we and the Autism Society of North Carolina have seen from using the marketing automation software.

Since this was a PR and marketing conference, with a heavy focus on social, we thought, "What better way to recap the event than with a collection of our own social posts from the past week?" So here you go:

Halloween at eZanga

Halloween at eZanga

By Brittany Berger,October 31, 2012

Happy Halloween, everyone! True to our "Work hard, play hard, eat hard," motto, Halloween is a big deal here! We also had three new employees starting today, so they got to experience the eZanga culture right away! In addition to our traditional new employee breakfast, we had a mini-Halloween party at lunch.

We love any excuse to pull a prank, so the cubicle house was "toilet paper-ed" and a cubicle was frogged!

We also all wore costumes, some of which were weeks in the making! Our annual Halloween Costume Contest was held again, with employees voting on their favorite costumes for certain categories. The winners were (drumroll please):

eZanga's 5th Year on Inc. 5000 List

eZanga's 5th Year on Inc. 5000 List

By Brittany Berger,September 5, 2012

Inc. Magazine recently released the annual Inc. 500|5000 list for 2012. The list ranks the top 5000 fastest-growing, private companies in the nation, according to percentage growth over the past four years. It started out as the Inc. 500 list in 1982, but the magazine expanded the list to the Inc. 5000 in 2007 to represent a "broader and deeper understanding of the entrepreneurial landscape, as well as recognize a larger percentage of this important and growing market segment."

As Eric Schurenberg, the Editor-in-chief of Inc. Magazine, put it himself, being included on the list this year in particular indicates that a company "had to thrive through three of the toughest years this economy has seen in living memory." The 2012 list of companies have proven growth potential and staying power. This is why eZanga.com is so pleased to have made the list this year, for the fifth year in a row. The economy has gone through a lot since 2008, when eZanga.com first appeared on the list in position #193. Schurenberg describes companies that remain on the list as creative, resilient, and tenacious.
