The summer temperatures aren’t the only thing sizzling this summer.

As we near the apex of the year’s hottest season, Lead411 – a business data and services website – has released its list of the Hottest D.C. (and surrounding area) Companies in the technology category. eZanga.com was fortunate enough to make the cut along with 80 other businesses in areas including D.C., Maryland, Virginia and Delaware.

Lead411 chose the winners by looking for the fastest growing private companies in the fields on Software, Wireless, Internet or Online Media and judging them based on a criteria in which one of the following must be met:

• 100% increase in revenues over the past 3 years
• Over $1M in funding in the past 2 years
• 2X traffic gains to their website in the past 12 months AND over 1 million unique visitors a month.
